Hitachi Energy Xi’an Power Capacitor Co., Ltd. was established in 2000, serving as Hita-chi Energy’s only capacitor manufacturing base and power quality solutions center in China. In April 2023, the facility was relocated to a modern industrial park in Xixian New Area. The new site features Hitachi Energy’s globally leading dry-type and wet-type ca-pacitor production lines, as well as assembly lines for power quality systems, all up-graded with full automation and intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

With a rich portfolio of products and solutions, the Xi’an manufacturing base has long participated in major transmission projects and key infrastructure developments in China and around the world, serving diverse applications including ultra-high-voltage transmission, renewable energy integration, industry, data centers, green hydrogen, and transportation. Its products and solutions have been applied in a number of milestone projects, including Changji–Guquan, the world’s first ±1,100 kV UHVDC transmission link with new records on voltage level, transmission capacity and distance; Zhangbei, the world’s first VSC-HVDC grid; Gansu–Zhejiang, the world’s first ±800 kV flexible UHVDC project; Hornsea 3, the world’s largest single offshore wind farm; and the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia, a world-class green hydrogen project. These applications help improve power quality, enhance grid reliability, and support the efficient transmission of clean energy.

Serving global markets, the Xi’an manufacturing base has expanded its business to Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Looking ahead, the company will continue to leverage its local R&D, manufacturing, and engineering capabilities to advance innovation in power quality products and solutions, play a greater role in Hitachi Energy’s global product development, manufacturing, and supply chain system, and meet the needs of customers in China and around the world.
