Press Release | UK & Ireland | 11.12.2025 | 2 min read

Birmingham, UK – 12th December – Hitachi Energy UK Limited and Omexom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the delivery of Integrated GIS Applications (IGA) for high-voltage grid connections across the United Kingdom. This partnership brings together Hitachi Energy’s expertise in advanced grid technologies with Omexom’s proven capabilities as an EPC and delivery contractor in transmission and distribution projects.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work jointly to leverage standardised, modular substation solutions that enable faster deployment, improved efficiency and reduced site risk. The collaboration will focus on supporting major UK electricity infrastructure and connections for renewable energy, data centres and other critical infrastructure.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability. Hitachi Energy’s IGA portfolio includes EconiQ® eco-efficient solutions, SF₆-free technologies designed to minimise environmental impact while meeting the UK’s ambitious energy transition goals.

This collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver high-voltage solutions that accelerate the UK’s energy transition. By combining Hitachi Energy’s technology leadership with Omexom’s delivery expertise, we can offer customers a streamlined approach to grid connections that meets both technical and regulatory requirements.
