Hitachi Energy marks start of construction at new £18 million site in Staffordshire

  • Hitachi Energy today marked the beginning of construction of its new Staffordshire site during a groundbreaking ceremony.
  • Located at the Beacon Development Zone in Stafford, the new Operational Campus will specialise in digital innovation.[CM1]
  • The new Campus is the second real-estate investment in two years in the West Midlands and will open in 2026 and bring hundreds of jobs to the area.

Staffordshire, 16th June 2025 – At a groundbreaking ceremony Hitachi Energy marked the start of construction of its new Campus in Staffordshire. At the ceremony with Hitachi Energy executives, the company marked the next stage of growth on its UK journey.

The new Operational Campus situated in the Beacon Park Development zone is set to create hundreds of jobs for the local area in addition to retaining 400 staff that were based out of the Stone site. The ceremony marked the start of construction with the new facility set to open by 2026. The sustainable design of the Facility will also include a New Innovation Area, to support the future growth of Hitachi Energy´s UK business as it continues to deliver critical energy infrastructure to customers across the country.

The company will move out of its current office in Stone to the new purpose-built facility, marking a second major investment for the West Midlands area in two years, following the opening of the Hitachi Energy UK Headquarters in Birmingham City Centre in 2024.

We are very excited to continue building our long legacy in the Staffordshire area. Our new Campus will have a strong local economic impact, and we look forward to the next part of ourgrowth in Staffordshire.
