Powering the next chapter: Hitachi Energy inaugurates transformer components factory in Dilovası, Türkiye

Features | 13.04.2026 | 2 min read

Hitachi Energy has inaugurated its new transformer components factory in Dilovası, Türkiye, marking a strategic expansion of its global manufacturing footprint and reinforcing its ability to meet rising demand for reliable and sustainable power infrastructure. The 13,000-square-meter facility replaces the company’s previous transformer components factory in Tuzla, Istanbul, transitioning to a new, modern site in Dilovası and strengthening production capacity at a time when electrification, renewable integration, and grid modernization are accelerating across regions.

As global demand for transformers continues to outpace supply, the availability of high-performance components has become increasingly critical to ensuring timely delivery and system reliability. The Dilovası facility directly addresses this challenge by improving lead times, enhancing production scalability, and supporting a more resilient global supply chain.

The factory produces a wide range of essential components, including de-energized tap changers, measurement and safety devices, and porcelain and silicone bushings—key elements that enable transformers to operate safely and reliably under electrical, thermal, and mechanical stress. These components are fundamental across applications such as utilities, renewable energy, industry, data centers, and transportation infrastructure, where performance and reliability are non-negotiable.

With more than 40 years of transformer components expertise in Türkiye, the new Dilovasi factory is supported by a global supply network spanning over 70 countries, and trusted partnerships with more than 130 original equipment manufacturers. The facility adds to this legacy, reinforcing the company’s position as a trusted partner in the global transformer industry. It also enhances service to customers across Türkiye, the Middle East and Africa, India, and international markets.

Designed with efficiency, quality, and future scalability in mind, the factory features modern production layouts, optimized material flows, and advanced testing capabilities that improve process stability and operational performance.

Sustainability is embedded throughout the facility’s design and operations. The site integrates enhanced indoor air quality systems with fresh air circulation and CO₂ monitoring, while energy consumption is actively tracked through advanced power analyzers to support efficient operations. It also adopts environmentally responsible practices, including the use of eco-friendly chemicals, and the use of recycled-material spare parts in maintenance—supporting more sustainable manufacturing.

This expansion strengthens our ability to support customers worldwide at a time when power systems are evolving faster than ever. The Dilovası factory plays a critical role in delivering reliable transformer components that enable the energy transition.
