Over the last decade, INOPC has evolved into a major engineering hub serving customers in more than 40 countries across multiple energy sectors. The center supports the Transformers, Grid Integration, Grid Automation, and High Voltage business units and has successfully executed engineering and commissioning activities for projects across more than 80 countries.
As a Project Engineer in Power Quality Solutions (PQS) Electrical Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design and engineering solutions for PQS projects. The role covers end-to-end engineering execution, including MACH hardware control and protection system design, IED-based conventional control and protection systems, protection configuration and testing, auxiliary AC and DC system design, MV/LV switchboards, battery systems, junction boxes, LV cable sizing, and cable estimation. You will work closely with global engineering teams, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure technically compliant, cost-effective, and reliable project delivery.
· Deliver electrical engineering work packages for PQS projects in line with customer specifications, applicable standards, project schedules, quality requirements, and approved budgets.
· Prepare secondary engineering designs for MACH-based and IED-based control and protection system cubicles.
· Develop FACTS plant secondary design drawings and related project documentation.
· Design and estimate auxiliary AC and DC power requirements, including LV/MV switchboards, battery systems, UPS, and voltage stabilizers.
· Perform sizing and estimation of LV auxiliary power cables, control cables, communication cables, and indication cables.
· Provide technical input for procurement of cubicles, cables, junction boxes, AC/DC switchboards, MV switchgear, battery systems, UPS, voltage stabilizers, and related equipment.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, control, system design, commissioning, supply chain, and project management functions.
· Review and coordinate vendor and supplier drawings for electrical deliverables, including interfaces with primary equipment.
· Support sub-supplier evaluation and selection based on project requirements and technical compliance.
· Validate engineering schedules, monitor progress, and proactively escalate risks or delays affecting electrical deliverables.
· Participate in customer FAT, site installation support, commissioning support, and issue resolution as required by the project.
· Support protection system configuration, testing, and related engineering activities where applicable.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, lessons learned, and reuse of engineering solutions.
· Prepare and update as-built drawings and final project documentation.
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
· 6–10 years of experience in substation secondary engineering, EPC design, project execution, HVDC control and protection hardware design, or a related electrical engineering domain.
· Strong experience in control and protection cubicle design, plant engineering, auxiliary power systems, LV/MV switchgear, cable engineering, and electrical drawings.
· Hands-on experience with E3 or similar electrical design tools.
· Knowledge of ETAP, IEC configuration tools, protection systems, and power system studies will be an added advantage.
· Good understanding of international standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IEEE, and the ability to apply applicable standards in project execution.
· Ability to work independently with general supervision, applying established local and global engineering standards.
· Strong ownership, analytical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety, and timely delivery.
