Finance Business partner - SAP S/4 HANA Controlling - CP&O

The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy's Controlling Capability Center and play a pivotal role in driving the digital finance transformation journey through SAP S/4HANA. As an SAP CO Functional Analyst, you will act as the bridge between Finance, Business Controllers, and the SAP Controlling Center of Excellence (CoE), ensuring business requirements are effectively translated into scalable system solutions.

In this role, you will partner with global finance teams and business stakeholders to enhance controlling processes, improve financial transparency, and support data-driven decision-making across diverse business models, including manufacturing, project-based operations, services, and software. You will contribute to the continuous evolution of SAP Controlling capabilities by identifying process improvement opportunities, driving standardization, and supporting global transformation initiatives.

The position offers exposure to complex end-to-end financial value streams and provides the opportunity to influence the design, development, and implementation of SAP CO solutions on a global scale. You will collaborate with controllers, process owners, and SAP experts to optimize controlling processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Serve as the key interface between Finance, Business Controllers, and the SAP CO CoE, ensuring effective alignment between business needs and system capabilities.

• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into SAP CO solutions, driving enhancements from design through implementation.

• Support and optimize SAP Controlling processes across Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Services, and Software business models.

• Evaluate and improve end-to-end financial value flows, identifying opportunities for process simplification, harmonization, and automation.

• Provide functional expertise across Result Analysis (RA), Revenue Accounting & Reporting (RAR), Material Ledger, Product Costing, Cost Object Controlling, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).

• Support financial planning, allocation cycles, assessment and distribution processes, activity-based costing, and profit center accounting.

• Lead global user training, awareness sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the controlling community.

• Participate in SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, ensuring successful delivery of system enhancements and business process improvements.

• Collaborate with global stakeholders to resolve process and system-related challenges while ensuring operational excellence.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, governance standards, and organizational policies.

Your Background

• CA, CMA, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or MBA (Finance).

• 3-5 years of experience as an SAP CO Consultant with strong knowledge of Finance, Controlling, Management Accounting, and Manufacturing processes.

• Hands-on end-to-end SAP CO implementation experience with strong understanding of integrations across FI, SD, MM, PS, and related SAP modules.

• Expertise in key SAP CO functionalities including Product Costing, Material Ledger, CO-PA, Result Analysis, RAR, Profit Center Accounting, and Period-End Closing.

• Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial, Project Business, or Shared Services environments preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to engage effectively with finance and business leaders.

• Proven ability to work in global and multicultural environments, managing multiple priorities and driving outcomes.

• Exposure to business transformation, process improvement, automation, or ERP/SAP S/4HANA initiatives is an advantage.
