How you’ll make an impact

1. You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the HSE management system (ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO50001) to ensure compliance and effectiveness, lead internal and external audits. 

2. You will conduct law and regulatory compliance review, manage and resolve any regulatory or legal HSE-related issues. Feedback on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across Hitachi Energy to management and employees. Reports progress on implementation of Hitachi Energy HSE objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to Hitachi Energy Group, as required. 

3. You will ensure that area of managers understand their HSE obligations and liability to fulfil site HSE roles, according to local HSE law and Hitachi Energy Group policy, instructions and standards. 

4. You will facilitate HSE risks assessment by line management, support management team, contractors' employees and shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, ensure all processes are implemented, conduct and lead the basic concepts such as risk assessment and environmental aspects & impact assessment. 

5. You will communicate and engage with contractors' employees and shop floor employees to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment to HSE efforts and performance and obtain objectives feedback to drive HSE performance. You will coach and guide front line staff to ensure the safety culture and prevention activities. 

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background 

1. You hold a bachelor’s degree in safety, Health, Environment, and electrical engineering is a plus, with minimum of 5 years full time experience in HSE management in the mechanical manufacturing industry. 

2. Required with Certified Safety Engineer. 

3. Knowledge about workplace risk assessment methodologies and techniques. 

4. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
