Transformer design automation engineer

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will be responsible for development of automation tools/platform for engineering design process. Maintenance for design database.

2. You will be responsible for Digital process transformation for the workflow in department and cross-functional.

3. You will collaborate with each function in company to ensure design/process improvement and optimization.

4. You will be responsible for Material and Components selection and verification, new material development, maintenance, standardization, compiling norms and company standards.

5. You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Material science/Software Engineering/Mechanical or a related field.

2. Proficiency in one or more of programing tools/design software (e.g., C++, Java, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo..).

3. Experience in the design of transformers is preferred (e.g., distribution transformers, power transformers, special transformers, Box-type transformer, secondary wiring designing for control cabinet).

4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
7. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
