The opportunity
Our Grid Automation business unit has a comprehensive portfolio of solutions. These range from substation automation, communication networks, grid automation services, grid edge solutions to enterprise software solutions. These solutions address all key segments connected to the energy system including generation, transmission distribution, industries, transportation and infrastructure sectors.
How you’ll make an impact
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems)
Deep knowledge of power system protection with emphasis on busbar protection (fault studies, CT behavior incl. CT saturation, settings coordination, selectivity)
Hands on experience configuring, testing, and validating protection IEDs using engineering tools and IEC 61850 engineering artifacts (ICD/CID/SCL)
Proficiency in C++ and ADA for protection/embedded application development; strong debugging, code review, and unit/integration testing discipline
Practical experience with Adwin Pro test system and OMICRON based automated testing (test plan design, automation, and regression execution)
Proven track record delivering complex features to release milestones—from architecture to implementation and integration
Experience triaging and resolving product feedback end to end, including root cause analysis, implementation proposals, and validation
Direct customer support/interaction to elicit true requirements and propose solutions that avoid unnecessary firmware changes where feasible
Collaboration with support, Product Management, and cross functional teams; creation of clear operational documentation for engineering and test teams
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (Boards/Repos/Pipelines) or equivalent for backlog, CI/CD, branching, and version control
Your background
Familiarity with IEC standards for protection systems (IEC 61850, IEC 60255); experience analyzing/closing conformance test findings
Test automation at scale, data driven validation, and integration with Automated test system toolchains
Strong systems engineering mindset across the product lifecycle; ability to produce concise implementation proposals for complex features
Experience crafting customer specific adaptations to reduce rework and future changes
Scripting to accelerate workflows and test harnesses like Ruby; comfort learning new languages/tools quickly
Effective communication with distributed teams; ability to take ownership of ambiguous, cross domain tasks outside the comfort zone
Support for type tests and factory/acceptance testing; ability to produce step by step operation guides for stable system operation
