You will be part of a worldwide HSE and Sustainability community of Hitachi Energy that oversees and develops strategies to ensure safe working conditions as well as healthy workplace and focus on supporting our customers’ journey on climate and circularity. This role will directly report to the PGGI Operating Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing HSE and Sustainability activities and will ensure the successful implementation of strategic programs across the country, in line with BU PGGI strategy and Hitachi Energy’s requirements. Provide support, coaching and advice to leadership and line managers on HSE and Sustainability matters and report on the performances of the respective country along BU value chain. Support the business by applying in-depth HSE and Sustainability knowledge to offer solutions and advice. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Provide support and ensure Local PGGI Unit operate in compliance with the HSE Operating System Standards, Life Saving Rules and High-risk activities in the PGGI. Provide support, leadership and advice to ensure consistency in the implementation, application and compliance with the HSE annual operating plan.  

  • Drive HSE legal compliance and control the conformity. Provide strong leadership to promote a high-performance culture, role modeling and reinforcing the behaviors that will underpin PGGI business growth.

  • Visit sites activities to ensure compliance with HE’s HSE and customer’s requirements. 

  • Conduct, contribute and participate the basic concepts suchlike risk assessment (ABRA) and environmental aspects & impact assessment, participate emergency drills, site walks/tours (SOT), GEMBA activities, 5S implementations etc. as a whole contribute the HSE performance, hazards, risks and precautions and take necessary actions where necessary.

  • Support the activities to update and maintain the ISO 45001 and 14001 (contribute to update and maintain the documentations for the management), implement global and local targets, identified improvements together with PGGI management and the local HSE department.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for Environmental data for the local PGGI unit to be consolidated into the PGGI BU reporting and to the Sustainability reporting of Hitachi Energy. Ensure safe execution of PGGI activities by being involved in the project planification, preparation and execution. 

  • Ensures timely notification of HSE incidents, investigations, preventive and corrective actions and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

  • Lead/review investigations of HSE incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and if necessary, the Fair Process investigations. 

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Environmental, Electrical,Mechanical,Civil Engineering is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of strong HSE experience, preferably in high-risk industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, or related fields. 

  • Familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001,NEBOSH and NFPA & having min. C-class Occupational Safety Specialist is a plus.

  • Proven expertise in risk assessment, mitigation planning, high-risk activities management.  

  • Experience in leading HSE projects, fostering safety culture, and implementing innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Good command of written and spoken English & Turkish.
