With PQstorITM R3, your Energy Storage System (ESS) can deliver all behind-the-meter applications (backup power, power reliability, increased self-consumption, demand charge reduction, retail arbitrage, and time-of-use billing). Additionally, if used in small utility-scale energy storage, it can support frequency response, capacity firming and integration of renewables and fast EV chargers.

- Modular and scalable:
The PQstorITM R3 is designed with a modular concept, allowing addition of units in parallel to increase output power. Each module delivers up to 30 kW, and up to 16 modules can be connected in parallel, achieving a total power output of up to 480 kW in a single setup. For larger systems, the PQstorITM R3 sets can be connected together to deliver even larger power. - High performance and safety:
Safety and performance are at the core of the PQstorITM R3. It features a three-level IGBT architecture that ensures low losses and high efficiency. Enhanced protection is provided through AC/DC fuses and EMC filtering, while dedicated fans improve thermal capability, ensuring reliable operation even under demanding conditions. - Flexible and easy to integrate:
The PQstorITM R3 supports flexibility and simple integration. It works seamlessly with most third-party controllers that communicate over the MODBUS TCP/IP protocol. Its broad DC voltage window makes it compatible with various battery setups, and its easy mounting and connection features simplify installation. - Enhanced communications features:
Communication is key for energy storage systems, and the PQstorITM R3 excels in this area. The PQconnecT is a DIN rail-mounted Modbus TCP/IP to CAN converter that facilitates communication with external controllers. The system includes a Modbus TCP/IP interface for integrating into ESS, Wi-Fi for module parameter settings, and a micro-USB port on the front panel for servicing and firmware updates. - Off-grid capability:
The PQstorITM R3 is equipped with advanced off-grid capabilities, making it ideal for building off-grid energy storage systems. It features Black-Start, which allows the system to establish a grid after a blackout. The planned transition from grid-tied to off-grid mode (and back) is seamless, ensuring uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, the system offers a fast dynamic response to variations in load and can handle asymmetrical loads efficiently. - Comprehensive grid code coverage:
PQstorITM R3 comes with Grid Code Profile manager (GCP), which adjusts the unit to various grid code requirements. The ESS integrator can upload a desired grid code profile from the list previously prepared by Hitachi Energy. Look for the growing library of PQstorITM R3 grid codes.
