Mission Statement:

Develop, plan and implement Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Ensure execution in accordance with Company, SCM and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures.

Your responsibilities:

  • Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.
  • Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts.
  • Minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions.
  • Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval. Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.
  • Ensures identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Company policies.
  • Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major suppliers. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.
  • Designs and implements cost-out programs and/or processes to reach financial targets.
  • Applies and implements SCM standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities.
  • Contributes to and participates in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework. Ensures the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved.
  • Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and Group Supply Chain Management excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training, etc.)
  • Identify and develop material and equipment suppliers with reli- ability, quality, and competitive costs. Develop frame agreements where suitable.
  • Organize pipeline review meetings with major suppliers. Work closely with proposal and engineering teams to prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations, and formulate project bud- get.
  • Solicit quotes from both Hitachi Energy internal and external suppliers. Negotiate with suppliers on terms and prices.

Your background:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline or business administration or any other qualification that is deemed suitable for the role.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience in a project environment for Power Quality & HVDC substations, Renewable Energy and Process Industries in EPC/Engineering packages and depth knowledge and exposure in Sourcing with leadership skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function and exposure to sourcing of various EHV Electrical instruments i.e Reactors, Cooling Systems, Transformer, Circuit Breakers, ITs, GIS, Structures, HV/LT Switch boards, HV/LV Cables etc. from inland and international supply base.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement of tailored equipment
  • Good knowledge of processes in large and complex industrial or power quality projects
  • Strength in commercial/legal aspects of purchasing
  • Excellent communication & proven negotiation skills Drive to continuously create results and innovative solutions
  • Experience with capital project business, transnational process, and SAP Project Systems
  • Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties at different levels in a project environment
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
