Configuration Manager - Digital Service Solutions

The Opportunity

Business Unit Service is at the forefront of delivering next‑generation digital service solutions that enable outcome‑based services across the energy and industrial domain. Our Digital Service Solutions R&D organization designs and delivers scalable, cloud‑enabled, IoT‑ and OT‑integrated digital solutions that support customers throughout the full asset lifecycle.

We are now looking for a Configuration Manager – Digital Service Solutions to take a pivotal role in shaping how configuration management is defined, governed, and embedded across modern digital service platforms. This is a senior, enterprise‑level role operating at the intersection of cloud, software, IoT, OT, data, and AI, with direct impact on reliability, security, compliance, and long‑term service scalability.

Reporting to the Technology Manager for Digital Service Solutions, you will operate within the Technology organization, working closely with development, cloud operations, cybersecurity, release management, and IT to ensure end‑to‑end configuration integrity across complex hybrid IT/OT landscapes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will define and continuously evolve configuration management as a core digital capability, enabling faster delivery while maintaining high standards of safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. You will:

  • Define and own the configuration management framework for digital service solutions, covering software platforms, cloud infrastructure, IoT and OT assets, data pipelines, and AI models.

  • Establish configuration policies, standards, baselines, and lifecycle governance aligned with modern DevOps and digital delivery models, while remaining fit for OT integrated environments.

  • Build and govern a solution level Configuration Management System (CMS) that ensures end to end traceability of configuration items, versions, ownership, and dependencies across hybrid IT/OT architectures.

  • Embed configuration identification, versioning, and traceability into CI/CD pipelines and controlled deployment processes, balancing automation with appropriate validation and approval for operational systems.

  • Define configuration standards for cloud platforms, IoT and OT devices, edge components, data pipelines, and AI/ML services, ensuring consistency across distributed and multi customer environments.

  • Partner with cybersecurity, IT, and product teams to align configuration baselines with security hardening, compliance, and operational risk management.

  • Plan and execute configuration audits, provide audit evidence, manage configuration risks, and drive continuous improvement using clear KPIs and management level reporting

Your Background

You combine deep configuration management expertise with a strong understanding of modern digital platforms and OT‑integrated systems. You are comfortable operating across engineering execution and governance, and you thrive in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven experience in configuration management for software‑intensive digital services and OT‑integrated solutions.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, version control, release management, and environment management.

  • Hands‑on experience with Configuration Management Systems (CMS), configuration data models, and compliance‑driven processes.

  • Ability to translate regulatory, security, and operational requirements into pragmatic, value‑adding governance.

Meriting experience includes:

  • Public cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP) and associated DevOps toolchains.

  • Containerized and distributed platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • IoT platforms, edge deployments, and OT device or firmware lifecycle management.

  • AI/ML platforms, model lifecycle management, and data governance.

  • Audit and standards exposure (e.g. ISO 27001) in a product or solution delivery context.

  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g. PowerShell, Python).

What’s in It for You

  • A strategic role shaping how digital service solutions are delivered, governed, and scaled across global industrial customers.

  • The opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud, IoT, OT, and AI‑enabled service innovation.

  • High visibility and impact across Technology, R&D, cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders.

  • A collaborative, international environment where engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement are core values.

  • The chance to build a long‑term career in a growing digital service organization driving the future of industrial services.
