HUB Americas Training and Development Manager

The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy and help shape the future of our High Voltage Products business across the Americas Region. As the Training & Development Manager, located at the Mount Pleasant, PA site, you’ll guide the strategy, design, and deployment of training programs that elevate performance, strengthen capability, and accelerate operational excellence across multiple manufacturing locations.

You will lead the Lean Academy curriculum, champion Structured On‑the‑Job Training, and partner with leaders across Operations, HSE, Quality, HR, and technical functions to deliver development solutions that directly influence safety, quality, and productivity outcomes.

In this role, you’ll impact the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to advanced technical capability-building to leadership development—ensuring every team member has the tools, training, and confidence to succeed. You’ll serve as a strategic advisor, a hands-on architect, and a trusted coach, bringing expertise in instructional design, adult learning, and training program management to a complex, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Shape and lead the training strategy across the Americas Region for High Voltage factories.

  • Lead and manage a team of instructional designers to deliver effective, scalable learning solutions.

  • Deploy the Structured On‑the‑Job Training process to enhance safety, quality, and workforce readiness.

  • Develop modern training programs, materials, and assessments using adult learning best practices.

  • Evaluate learning needs and collaborate with SMEs and leaders to build effective curriculum.

  • Implement and improve training management systems and process standards.

  • Establish KPIs to measure training effectiveness and drive continual improvement.

  • Strengthen trainer capability and coaching skills across multiple locations.

  • Benchmark best practices and share learning across the Americas region.

  • Partner with leaders to align training with business strategy and operational priorities.

  • Support onboarding, leadership development, and workforce development initiatives.

Your Background

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Change Management, Project Management, or related field; 10+ years in training, development, or operations/quality leadership.

  • 10+ years of people leadership experience, including remote team management.

  • Proven success in implementing training systems, frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed manufacturing environments.

  • Proficiency with Articulate 360, LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone), and MS Office tools.

  • Preferred: PMP certification, Lean/Green/Black Belt, or experience with high‑voltage components.
