GIS Installation and Commissioning Supervisor

The opportunity

You, as an Assembly & Commissioning Engineer – High Voltage GIS, will be part of Hitachi Energy’s business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for expert and timely execution of orders related to new assembly, malfunctions, preventive maintenance, and commissioning. Your contribution will support the successful completion of projects by meeting scheduling, cost, and material objectives, while ensuring compliance with quality assurance, safety, environmental, and personnel management standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Managing assigned assembly personnel throughout the project duration in alignment with Hitachi Energy’s management principles.

• Conducting and documenting project-related appraisal discussions, including goal setting, qualification tracking, and feedback.

• Taking initiative for personal development and discussing training needs with leadership.

• Assisting in the creation of technical documentation such as testing reports, checklists, and assembly/commissioning instructions.

• Evaluating and sharing empirical data from assembly activities and maintaining strong communication with business unit partners.

• Advising customers on preventive measures to avoid disturbances in installations and components.

• Providing continuous updates to leadership on personnel requirements and competency profiles.

• Expanding technical and general knowledge while maintaining clear and complete documentation of current projects.

• Offering guidance on assembly-related matters and ensuring quality standards are met, while promoting continuous process improvement.

• Ensuring compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in High Voltage systems, GIS, and SF6 gas handling.

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
