The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Bids & Proposal Specialist to join our team. In this role you responsible towards Offer preparation of Hitachi Energy portfolio to both internal and External Customer in line with sales procedures based on clear enquiries both for new and service sales. You have the responsibility of Timely Offering, reply to queries and ensure Technical / Commercial Offer is in-line with Customer request. You will be contributing to overall OTD (Order to Delivery) Target and prepare data related to OTD, report it to reporting manager. Further ensure tendering & offering team is always updated on Quality procedures

How you’ll make an impact            

  • Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Ensuring all proposal meet the Customer requirements and follows relevant Hitachi Energy Techno-commercial, legal procedures, guidelines. 
  • Ensuring Validation of Terms & conditions (Commercial, Technical, legal, pricing) with support of Controlling / Legal / SCM / HSE / Operations & / Sales team and reporting Manager
  • Responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
  • Initiating Tender Screening process and supports Bid / No bid analysis in close co-ordination with Sales team and as per Hitachi Energy applicable procedure, guidelines.
  • Initiating Risk Review process, Participate and contribute in Tender Risk review process.
  • Collaborating with regional and segment teams as well as support functions for timely submission of offer and handing over of order. To works as a team with other team members and to keep information level same for all opportunities.
  • Supporting the sales team by working in close co-ordination with respective all feeder factories / Division speaking partners/Bus/PGs to meet Customers Techno-commercial requirements. Ensure market & Customer conditions are leveraged to prepare most effective Competitive offer
  • Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to qualified subcontractors.
  • Working as a team with other team members and to keep information level same for all opportunities. To assist in training / developing fresh engineers.

Your background      

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferable Electrical Power.
  • Preferably 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position / nature of working
  • Good knowledge of Hitachi Energy products/systems
  • General knowledge of the customers products, applications and processes
  • Actively demonstrates and strives to support Sales Team in their approach to serve Customer with Timely and Quality quotations
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
