Procurement and Logistics Specialist

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Procurement and Logistics Specialist for the High Voltage Business to join their team in Maneja, Vadodara, Gujarat India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.

• Leveraging procurement strategy, efficient logistics management, and strong supplier relationships.

• Support the organization's operational goals, enhance supply chain resilience, and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.

• Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.

• Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.

• Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ensuring quality, timely delivery, leveraging technology, promoting sustainability, and managing risk.

• Annual Rate Contract with supplier and sub-supplier for electrical category.

• Identify and execute cost saving opportunity and cost avoidance opportunity.

• Monitor existing supplier capacity and supplier allocation considering business demand and category strategy.

• Three-month material forecasting to supplier for keeping material stock.

• Alternate Supplier Identification, Qualification, Development and On-boarding.

• Ensure suppliers meet quality & delivery standards and continuously improve product quality. Address any issues promptly and work with suppliers to resolve them.

• Oversee supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.

• Work with R&D team for new product development.

• Perform PPAP for new development or engineering change along with cross functional team.

• Degree or Diploma: Electrical Engineering.
• Diploma (7-8 years) or Degree (5-6 years).
• Must have prior experience, technical and commercial understanding of Wiring Plate, Marshalling Box, Panels, Electrical Child Parts, Cables and Fabrication (Al / MS cabinets).
• Experience of SAP Material Management Module and proficiency in Excel Sheet.
• Possess various skills and competences like basic technical understanding and present market trend, capable of making procurement plan, communication and negotiation skills, knowledge of procurement terms & conditions, taxation & duties, teamwork and assertiveness, able to work under tight deadlines & fast paced business environment and handle multiple activities.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
