Hitachi Energy has always been at the forefront of key nation building initiatives in India and 2024 marked 75 years of our presence in the country. After starting operations in 1949, we established our first factory in Vadodara in 1962, which we have expanded and modernized over the years and today our three manufacturing locations in Gujarat account for the bulk of our offerings.

In India, Hitachi Energy operates under two entities. Hitachi Energy India Limited, which is listed on the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited (BSE) as POWERINDIA, Scrip code 543187, and Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt Ltd. Today Hitachi Energy in India, has over 7,500 employees across 19 factories in eight manufacturing locations, common shared services and a global technology and innovation center - a reflection of our commitment to Make in India – for India & the world. We have the distinction of pioneering this technology and today more than half the HVDC links in India are leveraging this innovative solution.

In the transport sector, we have partnered with Indian Railways to indigenously develop Scott Transformers that will be central to powering high-speed rail. Most of the metro rail systems in the country deploy our power automation. And it is now time to set the stage for the future of India’s net zero ambitions.
