World’s first SF₆-free 550 kV dead tank breaker available with pre-insertion resistor
The EconiQ 550PM63-HA is the first eco-efficient Dead Tank Circuit Breakers (DTB) for 550 kV which operates without SF6. It combines a low carbon footprint, superior reliability and low life cycle costs.
The eco-efficient 550 kV DTB uses a gas mixture of carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2) and a specific fluoronitrile (C4-FN) to essentially eliminate the carbon equivalent (CO2eq) emissions of the insulating medium. The DTB is based on well-established and reliable gas-circuit breaker technology that has been utilized for decades in transmission systems globally. It is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern power grids while ensuring that it retains the same footprint, dimensions, reliability, and efficiency as conventional SF6 equipment. As an option, it is available with pre-insertion resistor or point-on-wave controller.
